Canadian EPA Regulations

Spark ignition and compression ignition (Diesel) engines in most developed countries are subject to emissions regulations.

Effective January 1, 2006, Canadian Off-Road Compression-Ignition Engine Emission Regulations mirror the US EPA regulations. Engine manufactured after January 1, 2006 must meet EPA Tier 2 or 3 to be imported or sold in Canada.

In effort to maintain uniformity within North America and to keep the cost of product down Canada has adopted the US EPA regulations. Look for the EPA Logo and ask your supplier if he can verify  your equipment meets current EPA standards.
